An invitation to all to join a Card evening from 7.30pm on Friday evening,  19th March.   The format of the evening is a series of card games, each different, each with rules VERY CAREFULLY explained by Sean - you move around between games, so get to meet other club members.  For a mere £10, you get an evening's entertainment AND a plateful of fish and chips .. but bring your own drinks to ensure the evening goes even better!

In spite of freezing temperatures congratulations to all for completing the first rounds of the competitions with the first completion deadlines (Men’s singles and Mixed doubles). There were clearly some cracking matches - many have gone to three sets!

I’ve only had to award two ‘walk-overs’ owing to matches not being played. Remember, if you don’t contact me I will assume that the player on ‘top’ of the draw has failed to arrange the match and will therefore be eliminated.

 The next deadline for completion of the Ladies’ singles, Men’s Doubles & Ladies’ doubles is the 22^nd February so please do all you can to complete your matches by then.

The Committee has decided - for the second year - to peg all membership fees to the same as last year.

Dick Elms, Membership Secretary, has sent emails to all those with email addresses, giving details of the fees and how to pay them, and he is posting the form to all other current members.  Let him know if you haven't received anything - email dickelms@aol.com, or tel (020) 8441 0040

A reminder that if fees are paid by the end of February, you receive a useful 'early-bird' discount!

The draws for all five categories are available as downloads for Club members : log-in , go to 'downloads' in the column on the left, and choose the one(s) you want.  I will try to keep them updated, so make sure you put your results onto the Master sheets in the Clubhouse, and if possible email Nic and me (Dick - dickelms@aol.com) with the results too.

Following a discussion at the AGM, it has been decided that both Tuesday and Wednesday Practice nights will be open to both Ladies and Men - hopefully this will increase the opportunities for more enthusiastic players to improve their play throughout the winter.  Practice starts around 6pm, finishing promptly at 9pm. 

A reminder to members that if you are the last one to leave the courts, it is vital that you ensure that ALL the Clubhouse doors are locked.  Please note that this is true during the day as well as last thing in the evening, and also even if other members are still playing, they may be juniors, intermediates or others without a key, so DO PLEASE CHECK!
